8/1/10: Today is the last day!

We have had it here and today was are last day open here at our current location. We apologize to our regular customers for the abrupt closure, but situations beyond our control came into play. We would like to thank everyone you support us here and do not fret we WILL be back, bigger and better in 2011.

Now we were supposed to have a back to school sale starting on the 4th ( it is even advertised in the EDGE magazine). That will NOT change. CATATONIA STOREFRONT CLOSING ON 8.31.10

We would like to inform all our local customers that Catatonia will be shutting it doors on 8/31. This is a temporary situation until we can find ourselves a suitable new location, with a estimated grand opening of 2011.

We are closing because of our rathole of a location. We were getting tired of the ghetto area, the building, the management and the crime lately has been the last straw. We want our customers to feel safe and secure when they shop with us and being where we are does not honor that.

In the meantime, we are still operating full time online, we will be updating our store throughout the next month to list the 1000's of items we will make available to you. We have our entire catalog listed on Ebay and there's FREE SHIPPING. Also feel free to contact us if you do not see something listed and we may be able to get it for you. This includes CD's and DVD's as well. We want to continue our relationship with our instore customers and being able to offer so much now will benefit everyone.

We will continue to be apart of the local scene, we are still vending at the Goregrowlers Ball in November, and we are going to start working on possibly vending at other shows around the area as well as nationally.

7/8/10: BUSY!

Sorry for the long delay here, but we have been extremely busy building this little place. Our CD selection is growing by the week, our shirt selection is busting at the seams and we are currently working on new items to offer such as body jewelry, clothing (pants and such) and other great items.

We also now offer CATATONIA LEATHER. Plain and riveted wristbands made of 8oz. black leather are now available with Spiked and Pyramid designs coming soon, including GAUNTLETS!

We also are mulling around our first promotional concert! We are asking any of the local bands who shop with us ,interested in performing to contact us!

5/31/10- WEBSTORE IS NOW LIVE!

CATATONIA's online shopping is now up and running. Click the "products" link on any page to access. We are regularly working on updates and you can view the new arrivals and weekly restocks in the store along with inventory viewing to make sure the item you want is in stock. CD's and DVD's will be listed soon.

We now also are offering phone ordering for local pickup. Just give us a ring during business hours and use your credit card to order your item for a future pickup date.

We will have tons of merch coming this week as long as the suppliers can get them to us before the weekend, due to the holiday. Check the new arrivals section daily til thursday night to see what will make it to the store this week.

4/29/10- EXPANDED!

CATATONIA will be opening alittle later than normal tomorrow 4/30 due to finishing up the expansion project. We will be open from 2pm - 6pm and normal hours this weekend. We have addressed concerns regarding space issues for browsing merchandise while adding new merchandise. We think you will be happy with the results.

NEW IRON MAIDEN SHIRTS ARE ARRIVING TOMORROW AFTERNOON! After months of waiting, they are finally finished and shipping this week. 4/15/10- NOW OPEN FRIDAYS!

Starting this week on 4/16, CATATONIA begins it's charge towards five days a week open with the addition of Friday to our store hours. Our new hours are Fridays: 12:00 to 5 and Sat and Sun: 10:30 to 6.

4-9-10: EXPANDING!

We here at CATATONIA are excited to say that finally we are expanding our shop to DOUBLE size. We would like to thank all of your customers for this and we will now be offering MORE! More shirts, more CD's more of everything! This takes place at the end of the month and you will begin to see more merch coming in.

We know some of you have been asking for regular paper posters instead of the larger poster flags. Well we listened! Starting this week we will have posters from bands such as Metallica, Slipknot, Misfits and more! Only $6.99 and more coming soon!

Still no Iron Maiden shirts available. Rockibilia has them listed, if you wanna see the new designs, but they are not available for sale and if you purchase one it will be backordered. Just wait and once we get them, it will be announced.

4/1/10 - Happy Easter!

CATATONIA will be closed this Sunday for Easter. Which means Saturday is your only day this week to come by and pick up anything you need. We have a variety of cd's coming this week, check out our new arrivals section for the details.

It is looking like mid May is the scheduled time for us to open 5 days a week.

Due to the band leaving their licensor Bravado International Group, and joining Global Merchandising Services, Merchandise for Iron Maiden is slim. We have been informed that new designs and merchandise will come available in a week or two so do not fret. We are planning on having at least 10 different Iron Maiden shirt designs in time for the show on June 12th. Don't spend 60 dollars or more for the SAME shirts at the concert when we got them for $17.99! Keep checking back for more info.

3/19/10- HOURS OF OP. UPDATE

Starting on June 2nd, CATATONIA will be back open 5 days a week! Definitely. However it may be sooner, depending on school schedules and growth potential. Either way by June you will be able to shop with us Wednesday through Sunday.

Traffic update: We meant to do this last week but we were alittle busy. I-35N at Rittiman Road has been shut down on the weekends. If this weekend is the same, PLEASE call and we will give you this alternate route if you do not know the area. If you do, get off 35N at Broadway, make a left on a broadway and take it all the way til Austin Hwy and make a right. Take Austin Hwy down to Eisenhauer Road and make a right. and we are on the left at the second light.
If you need "Texas Directions"( Make a right at the Walgreens...etc) again give us a call.

You may have noticed or will notice the flip flopping of the store layout lately. We are trying to organize the store to accommodate all the new merch in our small space until a another spot opens up so we can expand. That's the reason, we are not crazy or anything. hehe.

CATATONIA will be advertising in BACKBEAT MAGAZINE starting next month. If you have not pick this free mag up anywhere you really need too. It is local and supports all genres of music and our local scene.

3/4/10 - Growing up and out!

We here at CATATONIA would like to personally thank all of our customers here in San Antonio and worldwide for their support and patronage. Because of you all, we are going to have to expand before we move. We are currently waiting on some open spots in our current location so we may be able to double the size. We are expecting hundreds of CD'S to start arriving within two weeks along with even more shirts then we already have. We are currently working on expanding certain areas of the business such as carrying more jewelry and increasing our already unmatched Satanic selection. We said 2010 was going to be big year and so far it is growing bigger and faster than predicted.

This week, will be the start of a advertising blitz we have prepared. You will begin to notice Catatonia stickers beginning to pop up in locations and if you want one, come on down. They are only a buck and FREE with a $25 or more purchase.
You will also see postcard flyers begin to make the rounds next week at all the local and national shows in town.
Advertisments in the local papers are coming as well.

2/26/10 Plenty of new arrivals this week

There is tons of new arrivals and restocks this week including a brand new Suicide Silence shirt. Check our new arrivals section for all the info.

Catatonia stickers will be arriving in two weeks. Shirts coming by the beginning the April.

Our CD section is growing by leaps and bounds. Soon it will be full time operation carrying all the new arrivals and releases as they come out. We are constantly growing and have our eyes open for a larger spot to house all the new merch.

In related news, CATATONIA will be open 5 days a week starting in May.

2/9/10 - PANTERA!

Available on eBay on Thursday and at the store on Saturday, Pantera men's and toddler tees will finally be available for sale. "Vulgar Display of Power" Men's shirt and "Dragster Logo" Toddlers will be here and next week another Pantera Men's ( Fire Snake) and Toddler ( Future Headbanger) will be available.

We are working on a few things for promotional items for the store. Vinyl Stickers and shirts will be available soon. The shirt will feature some sick artwork by CATATONIA owner, Tim Pittides. More information will be available as soon as it comes available.

CD's are here and thanks to all the people who came by to search and find what they were looking for. More discs are coming.

Also starting in March, CATATONIA will most likely be back open 5 days a week. More info to come.

2/4/10- CD'S ARE HERE!!!

Starting this Saturday, CATATONIA will have a large assortment of Punk, Metal and Hardcore CD's for sale. This is just the start, as we grow our selection outward having a fully operational cd store as well as everything else.

Regarding PANTERA: Pantera recently signed with Bravado International Group for all their merchandise. Shirts and Toddler Tees arrive next week with Juniors Tees and Hoodies arrive in three weeks. The chain wallet we used to have is no longer in production due it this new contract and no new wallet is scheduled. Once anything is available, we will have it.

Regarding SUICIDE SILENCE: Suicide Silence's merchandise contract with Merch-Co has expired. This means no SS shirts are available. There has been no news regarding if they resigned or went to a different licenser. This is disappointing for such a band not to have merch available for retail. This may mean we may have to contact the band directly for merch they print or you may have to order through their online store.

1/27/10 - Toddler Tees arrive!

After numerous requests, CATATONIA now carrys Toddler Tee's from various bands! 2T-4T sized shirts from Metallica, Motorhead, BLS, and Social Distortion arrive this week and available for sale this Saturday. More band toddlers such as Pantera, Ramones, and others coming in a couple of weeks. ***Please note, Slayer no longer produces Toddler Tees. The licensor informed us new designs are in the works, so once they are available we will have them***

Also the big news is that CATATONIA will now be carrying CD's! Starting next week our first shipment arrives with over a hundred different albums from the Punk, Core, Thrash, Death,Black genres.
Just starting out, CATATONIA will have new releases but not receiving them until possibly two weeks after release. Running a CD store as well as everything else is way too much for just 2 people. So CATATONIA will be fully functional in all aspects of this by Xmas 2010.

1/11/10 - CHANGE OF PLANS

CATATONIA will be STAYING at it's current location until further notice of the next move. We realized we could not let down our local customers and friends and will continue to offer the best service and merchandise in the area!

We started this to provide San Antonio with a store that caters to fans of music that couldnt be found anywhere in the area. Three stores "dedicated" to music have closed within the last month. Closing now would hurt our customers and we would never do that. So with that, CATATONIA will continue to be open Saturday and Sunday: 10:30am til 5:30pm.

People wondering why the weird hours. Personal reasons such as college schedules will not let us open during the week at this moment.

Please sign our Email list when coming in to the store. We will update you with any news and new arrivals each week. If you would like to sign up now, just go the contact page of the site and put your email address in the information and use "Email List Sign up" under the subject line.

We are receiving more merchandise then our store can handle. Shirts, especially. When coming in to the store, make sure to look at the labels on the shirts, they will let you know which sizes we have AND any different designs available for that band. We do not have enough wall space to display every shirt. Don't be afraid to see the written design, we will happily show it to you.

We also are starting to veer away from going into a mall. We have spoken to numerous businesses about mall practices and if what is being said is true, it will only hurt us. Restrictions on what items can and can't be sold ( mainly any "offensive" material), Regulations on how your store needs to be set up and other issues contradict our mission statement and beliefs.

We are not going to compromise, sell out or change what we here are about. So opening in our own storefront may be the way to go.

1/1/10 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

CATATONIA wishes all of you a great New Year!!!! And this year will be great for us! Starting on February 1st, CATATONIA will be shutting it's doors at our current location. BUT DO NOT WORRY! We will be selling exclusively online and the shipping is FREE! I understand some of you will miss seeing our pretty faces but this will benefit you, cause with virtually no overhead, we will be able to offer more items and reach our goal of opening our own NEW storefront location quicker.
Specifics are still up in the air regarding this, but it WILL happen.

Online ordering will be exclusively through eBay. I understand some people are concerned with safety and security involved with eBay sellers, but you know us! So just sign up for a account and use it just for us. Our user id is CATATONIATEXAS and you can always see what's for sale right here under the eBay link on this site.
